Production Introduction

Once drawn the combs are virtually indestructible, it enables the beekeeper to extract at high speed without fear of the comb breaking up. It must however be pointed out that conditions for comb building must be near perfect for the bees to work the foundation. Many commercial beekeepers use plastic foundation now as a matter of course but we have heard that some, especially in New Zealand and Australia, are reverting back to pure beeswax foundation. Available in Langstroth or British Standard sizes.

• Acorn Plastic Foundations are designed to last. Precision molded cells. Super rigid, no bowing or warping. Available with standard, heavy or extra heavy wax. 9-1/8″ and 6-1/4″ sizes.

• Our Plastic Foundations fit easily into all standard grooved 9-1/8″ and 6-1/4″ wooden frames.

• All Acorn Plastic Foundations have an optional breakaway communication hole to provide movement among the frames.
